This classic apartment (140 m2 / 1507 sq ft) has 3 bedrooms, 3 complete bathrooms, and can sleep up to 6 guests. From the living room guests have a breathtaking view of the Ponte Vecchio, the Vasari corridor, and the Arno river. Once inside the apartment, on the left there is a spacious living room and dining room with a view of the Arno river. On the right there is the well-furnished kitchen, complete with appliances. Continuing on, there are the 3 bedrooms, of which one has a double bed that cannot be divided into 2 single beds, a bathroom with shower, then 2 other bedrooms with 2 single beds (only 1 bedroom can join the beds together to make a queen sized bed). There are also other 2 bathrooms one with a shower, and the other with a bath tub.

All clients staying up to 14 days will have to grant €300.00 as a deposit with a valid credit card (no debit cards), while for stays between 14 days and 60 days guests will have to grant €1000.00 as a deposit with a valid credit card (prepaid cards are not accepted). The apartment is located in the Oltrarno district in Florence’s historic city centre. The name “Oltrarno” literally means “beyond the Arno” and this neighborhood which stretches along the south bank of the river represents a different facet of Florence than that of the area near the Duomo. The Oltrarno perhaps displays the true character of Florence and in general is slightly quieter, greener, and more relaxed than the other districts of Florence. Indeed many tourists tend to choose the Oltrarno for this reason. Traditionally an artisans’ quarter, the Oltrarno still boasts today many lovely antique shops and artisans’ studios (in particular furniture and leather-workers) and Via Maggio remains the focus of Florence’s thriving antique trade.
Over time the Oltrarno became a rather chic area and many aristocrats chose this neighbourhood to build their villas and palaces, the largest of these being the Pitti Palace, which became the home of the various Grand Dukes. Today this sumptuous palace houses several important museums which rank amongst the best in Florence. Other major sights the Oltrarno has to offer are the Cappella Brancacci with its fabulous frescoes, Piazzale Michelangelo with its breath-taking views over Florence, the magnificent church of San Miniato, (one of the highest points in the city of Florence and also one of the best examples of Romanesque architecture in Tuscany) together with the most famous and oldest bridge in Florence, the Ponte Vecchio, home to a glittering array of jewellery shops and goldsmiths.
Extending up the hill from the Pitti Palace are the formal Boboli Gardens, an outdoor museum of garden sculpture that includes Roman antiquities as well as 16th and 17th century works. The Oltrarno is famous for its wine bars such as Olio & Convivium, authentic trattorias serving typical Tuscan cuisine, including Il Santo Bevitore, I 4 Leoni, and Il Magazzino, not to mention the wonderful fresh produce market held every morning in Piazza Santo Spirito. For those choosing an apartment in this area the Oltrarno quarter also offers a variety of grocery stores, pastry shops, bakeries, gift shops, and much more.
The Florence city centre is a ZTL zone which means a “limited traffic zone” and therefore special rules apply to when you can enter this area. This particular apartment is in fact located within the ZTL zone so this means that if you are thinking of coming to Florence by car and wish to drive around and park, then you will need to pay special attention to the road signs, CCTV cameras and access cameras (they will show either a red /green light) in order to avoid receiving fines. Guests who need to travel within the ZTL zone by car to reach their apartment are advised to contact one of the private garages in the centre (the one nearest the apartment you are staying in) and obtain a temporary access permit. Upon arrival at the garage, guests must specify their need for access in the ZTL and the garage will then note the vehicle’s number plate and forward it to the appropriate police headquarters.
