Built in the late 1800s by a prominent Massachusetts businessman, these buildings were sold to the Boston School of Interior Decoration, which separated the home into several living spaces for its students while maintaining the integrity of the original decor including the beautiful and ornate plaster ceilings, and hand carved wooden features of the banisters, as well as the many other features.
